LOYALTY – An amazing teammate that will do whatever it takes to support his team, teammates, classmates, school, friends and family both on and off the field.
INTEGRITY – Knows right from wrong and will utilize his position, influence and ability to change others around him to do the right thing.

This candidate/recipient should demonstrate LEADERSHIP –Inherently and proactively taking control of all situations both on and off the field leading his teammates or friends in a positive direction.
Brian Ciampi was the captain of the Varsity Football and baseball team. He was a fierce competitor and always left everything he had on the field. In football Brian received All County honors as he played middle linebacker where he acted as the defensive Quarterback. Brian called all the plays and audibled in real time. Offensively Brian was the Full Back, where he led the way into the opposition’s territory head first to clear the way for his teammates. He did off the field in life as well.
In Baseball, Brian was an All-County catcher where he controlled the game and called the plays. He pitched occasionally as well. He still holds the single season record for the most RBI’s for a LHS player. After High School Brian attended Farmingdale where he was the starting catcher and played in the National JR College Championship.
As a human being, Brian had a personality that was bigger than life. He was magnetic and the center of attention, everybody always wanted to be around Brian. Brian was well known and liked by everyone.
For the first year we will be giving one student athlete $1, 034.00 in Brian Ciampi’s name. We will also provide the recipient with a plaque for them to cherish. We will also create a larger plaque that will be housed in LHS that we will engrave each year’s with the recipient’s name and year.
Adam Berkowitz will work with the LHS Athletic Director and the Ciampi Family & Friends to determine and select the appropriate recipient each year. We reserve the right to give more than one scholarship per year in the future depending on our financial situation, for now we are committing to one. A representative from the family or friends would like to deliver the scholarship award at the Varsity dinner when other awards are given out.
